Hello Dianne’s Fans!
Mom is hanging in there tough and tight! Her kidneys are coming around and starting to behave. She is still pretty exhausted and while I know she wants a chance to see everyone we are now limiting her visits for most people. So, just check in with one of us main players and we will see what we can do.
I am, still noticing grogginess in her voice when I talk to her. I believe most likely this normal… she has a lot of meds running in her system (and last round when she came home it took about 2 days before she was clear minded)… so for those of us calling in (myself included)… let’s stay strong and know that it’s the medications and soon her fogginess will be replaced with our sharp minded (looking for the missing elephant in her house), amazing women that we all love so very much!
Speaking of phone calls… please don’t worry when you don’t get her on the phone. She is sleeping a lot and yesterday she dropped the phone on the floor and couldn’t get it to it for awhile.
We still don’t have a check out date to the lovely, luxurious uptown UCSF suite but, we think check out is coming soon. From the sounds of it we won’t have a lot of lead time to her release.
Ok… update is complete… now I want to touch base on us. For those of us that call her regularly and are feeling blue after talking to her because she doesn’t sound like herself… We need to remember that phone communication is already tough and then we add medications into the mix along with being in a hospital for 40 days… how do you think you would sound? It’s tough and it just plain sucks right now … but she is tough and will be home soon. When we do get to see her… her spirit is there… in her eyes and her smile even though her body is going through some major changes. Let’s try to concentrate on the spirit and not the voice! ;)
No matter who you are or where you are… you are where you are supposed to be. We all have a part in this journey… sometimes it is a main character, supporting roll, and other times it’s behind the scenes. Each one of us is important in helping to keep this journey progressing, no matter where we are and no matter what part we play! So, keep up the good work my family and friends… you are all so wonderful!!!
As always… with much love…. Frances

Thanks for the update Frances. By the way, I am mailing the third to last word card to you Dianne! I only have two left! If that is any sign I think you must be coming home soon! (Or I better hurry up and get my dictionary out to find some more words!)
Love Natalie
